Auas Safari Lodge is nestled in an expanse of African savannah in the shadow of the Auasberge Mountains – the highest mountain range in Namibia that extends for 56 kilometers and is rich in flora and fauna. Moltkeblick (2,479 m) is the highest peak in the range and the second highest in the country.

Waterbuck, kudu, impala, eland, zebra, black & blue wildebeest, oryx, springbuck and many of the smaller antelope species roam the Auas savannah. Giraffe can be seen browsing at treetop level. Predator cats like lynx, cheetah, and leopard may be spotted during morning or evening game drives, although guided walks are the best way of seeing these animals.
The area abounds with bird life, from large ostriches to small finches. Many water birds like the white pelican, Egyptian geese and many species of duck can be found on the two big dams. A vulture restaurant is also positioned close by.
